Deftones Return To The Studio In July
Spanish web site La Tercera recently interviewed Deftones frontman Chino Moreno, and he revealed the band is finished with pre production on the new album and will return to the studio this July.
"I know everyone says this, but I think it will be the best album we've recorded." Moreno said "I am very excited about it because it sounds futuristic compared to our last album, 'Diamond Eyes' - so it feels like a step forward."
Deftones will be joined again by bassist Sergio Vega. Vega entered the band after original bassist Chi Chang was left in a semi-comatose state by a 2008 car accident.

NIN Perform 'Down In It' On 80's Dance Party USA Video
A video clip surfaced this week of Nine Inch Nails performing their debut song 'Down In It' on the 'Dance Party USA' television show sometime in the 1980's.
Lead singer Trent Reznor took to twitter to respond to the video, and why the group appeared on the dance show. "Many Years ago, a young and naive Nine Inch Nails were asked what TV shows they'd be interested in appearing on." Reznor tweeted. "As a joke (and likely drunk), they thought of the most absurd choice they could come up with at the time. They were then informed their bluff had been called and were actually booked on said show...They had a laugh making fun of the people, their fashion choices and hairstyles. Life was good... Come to think of it, Skrillex may indeed owe me some publishing on that hairdo..."

Rob Zombie Says Upcoming Record Will Be The Best Yet
Rob Zombie is finishing production of his new horror movie 'The Lords of Salem' and has announced that he will start recording for his new album June 1st. The album is expected to be released in late 2012.
"It has been way, and I mean way too long without any new music. I am dying to get back to it." Said Zombie. "I have not felt this much excitement within the band since recording the first 'Hellbilly Deluxe' record almost 15 years ago. We have been working on tons of songs for quite some time and I can safely say this will definitely be our best record yet."
Rob Zombie and his band will be on a co-headlining touring with Megadeth before they hit the studio. "This tour should be a blast, I haven't shared a bill with Megadeth since way back in the early days of White Zombie, so this trek is long overdue."

Dave Mustaine Has To Much Time On His Hands
I am thinking about starting a whole new segment called "Oh Dave", about what crazy thing Dave Mustaine said this week.
Dave is not one to keep his thoughts to himself, and that's awesome for us. What did dave say this time?
Dave was a guest yesterday (March 26th) on 'George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight' and talked about Metallica, and President Obama not being born in this country. Mustaine has always been very vocal on his religious and political views.
When asked about Metallica's documentary 'Some Kind Of Monster', Mustaine responded "We are still volleying barbs back and forth in the press because of that movie. I didn't want to be in it after I saw the footage. I just figured I'm not going to be a part of this. But it came out, it was really good for me. That was the beginning of it."
When Stroumboulopoulos asked Mustaine about President Obama and the "birther" issue "I have a lot of questions about him, but certainly not where he was born. I know he was born somewhere else than America."
Tune in next week for another edition of "oh Dave"

The White Stripes Will Never Get Back Together
In a recent interview with NME, Jack White was asked if the White Stripes would ever reform. "Absolutely no chance. I couldn't see any reason to ever do that. I'm not that kind of person that would retire from baseball and come out of retirement the next year. I mean, if we went to all the trouble of telling people we're done, we meant it you know?"
"If we were forced to change our mind about that, I can only imagine the reason being if we went bankrupt or really needed the cash, which would be a really sad thing. I would probably be issuing an apology along with the announcement of the show dates." Said White.
With his continued string of nonstop hit bands from his own Third man records label, and a much anticipated solo album 'Blunderbuss' coming out April 23rd its hard to imagine this happening any time soon.
"I wanted Meg to come to a decision with me and officially put an end to it," said Jack. "I said eventually - I had no plans at the time - but eventually I'm going to record by myself under my name, and I don't really feel like going through the dumb perception battle of people who couldn't be broad minded enough to understand the difference between Jack White and The White Stripes." Said White.
"Sixteen Saltines" the second single off Jack Whites upcoming album 'Blunderbuss' can be heard on M Rock Radio. www.mRockRadio.com
'Blunderbuss' will be released on April 23rd on Third Man Records, and a U.S. Tour soon after.

Chester Bennington Says New Linkin Park Album Will Have A More Familiar Sound
Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington gave some insight on the bands upcoming fifth studio album in a interview with Kerrang!
"With this album, we've incorporated a lot of guitar work with big choruses and the heavier electronic stuff to give it that really big wall of sound feeling without getting too metal" Said Bennington. "This will be more familiar to people than 'A Thousand Suns' was, where we were like'...We're just going to go bonkers."
When asked about the bands 'nu-metal' status "over the previous two records, we were trying hard to break out of the nu-metal box that we'd found ourselves in. It's very easy to characterize us as that based on 'Hybrid Theory' and 'Meteora', but we knew there was more to us than that. With the exception of the metal guitar tone we had on the first two records - which, I think is the reason that a lot of people really like the band - I feel like we've found a place where we've become in our skin."
When asked about the lyrics for the new album "We've been writing a lot about releationships. We're not a political band, we're a socially minded band. We try to look at things that we find in the world that we'd like to see more of or that we'd like to see less of." said Bennington.

Stone Sour Start Work On New Album
Corey Taylor tweeted yesterday about the band starting work on a new album. "Construction on the new album began yesterday. Its gonna be a motherfucking MONSTER." said Corey, followed by his love of maple syrup.
Taylor spoke with Artisan News earlier this year about writing the new album. "Right now alone, we have 13 complete songs, with six more that I can demo, probably two or three that Josh [Rand] still has that we're tweaking, and then a bunch that Jim's [Root] gonna bring in. Our ultimate goal is a double concept album, which the only way I can describe it is 'The Wall' meets 'Dirt' on steroids. And I think it's gonna be fantastic. And if I can pull it off, it's gonna be the biggest thing we've done in our career."
Any more updates on the album we will let you know.

If Pantera Reunited Vinnie Paul Thinks Zakk Wylde Could Fill Dimebag Darrell's Shoes
Vinnie Paul did a recent interview with 97.1 The Eagle Rocks out of Texas. During the interview Paul said that if Pantera were to reunite his first and only choice to replace brother "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott would be Zakk Wylde.
"I spent two hours with Zakk, sitting down - a really good talk. I mean [Zakk] and my brother were so tight. If [a Pantera reformation] ever were to happen, [Zakk] would be the guy [to step in for Dimebag]. But I honestly think, out of respect for my brother, we should just leave the 14 amazing years Panter had be. We're all happy doing our own thing. We have to continue living and do other things."
Pantera's 20th anniversary deluxe edition of 'Vulgar Display of Power' will be released on May 15th with the lost track 'Piss'.

The new documentary by Hans Fjellestad 'Sunset Strip' debuting at SXSW this week, recounts the history of the famous L.A. street. The film interviews many celebrities like Slash, Sharon Stone, Tommy Lee, and Ozzy Osbourne and their stories of the Sunset Strip.
The films synopsis describes the film: "Birthed as a dusty trading route at the turn of the last century, Sunset Strip became the world's center of gravity for music, glamour, fashion, sex, and decadence. This curvy, mile-and-a-half strip of road falls just outside L.A. city limits, beyond the reach of LAPD, where it grew into a place like no other on the planet. A place where dreams are stared, chased, loved, hated, displayed, ignored, ended, or all of the above. You make your last stand in Eden, and this is Eden."

The person next door called and compained it was too loud."
